KKS builds on tried-and-tested technology: at its core is the high-quality 2” cast KKS 42 fifth wheel coupling. Reliable and loved by customers. Together, the KKS 42 and the KKS Connector form the revolutionary sensor coupling system with Sensoric, LubeTronic and a pneumatic opening cylinder.
Fitted to the underside of the trailer, the stars of the show are JOST’s unique KKS Connectors KKS-U and KKS-I. Both connectors control all the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic connections between the truck and trailer, eliminating the need for vulnerable air, electrics and ABS/EBS spiral lines. There are two different ways to install the connectors: With the galactically ingenuous KKS-U Connector, all of the cable and hose handling take place under the trailer during cornering. Thanks to its simple installation, it offers a huge advantage, especially for retrofitting onto existing trailers. Or choose the KKS-I Connector, where cable and hose handling takes place in the trailer floor.

Thanks to the intuitive KKS remote control, drivers have the entire coupling and uncoupling process in the palm of their hand, with all information about the coupling status of the fifth wheel available at a glance in real time. Changing trailers just got easier and simpler. All drivers need are a short briefing, and they’re ready to hit the road!
Hand cranking is now a thing of the past thanks to the robust module E-Drive KKS – an electric auxiliary drive that deploys landing legs automatically and is controlled via the KKS remote control. No more time-consuming and physically demanding cranking needed! And because the need for hand cranking is eliminated, this frees up an enormous amount of space!
Integrated directly in the fifth wheel coupling, the King Pin Finder serves as a smart camera assistant when reversing, sending a live camera feed to the dashboard or JOST monitor in the driver’s cab. It offers the best possible view for the coupling process, assisting the driver by displaying guidance lines to enable precise trailer alignment – even when approaching at an angle – and to assist in identifying the ideal lifting point. All components are contained in collision-proof housing and are perfectly integrated into the fifth wheel coupling, taking up minimum space.
