To equip you for particularly demanding applications, we have fitted a standard JSK80 fifth wheel coupling with 8 mm thick steel wear plates. These protect the coupling from damage, wear very slowly themselves and can be easily replaced after an extra-long service life. An additional replaceable, hardened wear ring and replaceable edge protection – both made of steel – make it perfect for fast automatic coupling, especially for terminal tractors. This is only available from JOST.
Another feature unique to JOST: the adjustable JOST coupling allows the locking bolt to be easily pushed back in case of wear. This doubles its service life. The unique automatic secondary locking mechanism for road use replaces the previous manual locking system. JOST coupling technology is generally simple, robust and durable. This well-known JOST principle has also been adopted here, significantly reducing training and maintenance costs.
Two sensors ensure maximum safety during automatic coupling: they monitor that the king pin is correctly seated in the lock and that the lever is in the correct position – and display both in the vehicle. And because we control the interfaces directly, this also works as a retrofit in any vehicle without any problems.
